I seem to be getting new followers every now and again, yet I’ve basically stopped posting on tumblr… here’s a new post I guess?
This is my girlfriend Kelly and her mother at a wedding this past weekend. I love my 24mm 1.4L although I’m selling it to be replaced with a 35mm 1.4L. Yummy glass all around.

It’s crunch time at SPAO (the School of Photographic Arts: Ottawa - for those who don’t know) these days. I’m shooting a still life series of drum skins which should end up being in my end of year portfolio.
Above is an edit from a shoot this morning. When you abstract your eye from the everyday, it’s pretty appealing what shapes and textures are around us. Drum skins each contain unique character, which is what I’m seeking to bring out in this series. Many more to come.

I rented a Canon 45mm f/2.8 Tilt-Shift for the weekend. I wish I had more time to play around with it, but on Friday I shot Amos the Transparent at Capital Music Hall. I’m sure a couple photos will appear in the coming days. I was testing it out before the show, and here’s a shot of Kelly and Mr. Chester.
Well, here’s my first ever blog post. Above is a portrait of my old friend, Laurent Bourque. Laurent is being featured in the Ottawa Citizen next week and wanted a new headshot for the article. I shot using an 8x10 view camera onto a paper negative using RC photo paper.
I hope to keep up to date with this blog. If not nothing else, then to track my own progress. To come, portraits of local bands Old Crowns, and Today I Caught The Plague.
